Close Scrutiny map condition introduced in ARC Raiders is without question the most difficult mode added to the game so far. Whether you’re aiming to loot Assessors or hunt down Vaporizers, you’ll need to take on this map condition to get it done.
Despite its high difficulty, the rewards under this map condition are substantial. You’ll have a much better chance of finding legendary weapon blueprints for ARC Raiders, along with the specific materials they require. Below, IGGM shares how you should go about looting Assessors and taking on Vaporizers.
What is Close Scrutiny?
Close Scrutiny is a brand-new map condition, similar to other conditions like Cold Snap, Night Raid, Hurricane, and Electromagnetic Storm. In Close Scrutiny condition, there are no locked doors, but the loot pool is reduced, while ARC activity increases substantially and becomes far more aggressive.
The core objective of a Close Scrutiny event is to breach and search Assessors that descend from the sky. These probes are usually surrounded by large numbers of drones, especially the new and powerful Vaporizer unit. You’ll need to successfully crack open Assessor and search it, but ARC Raiders blueprint is not a guaranteed drop – you’ll often have to attempt this multiple times.
Assessor
When players first load into a raid, Surveyors will wander to specific locations on the map to perform reconnaissance missions. According to the lore, they are searching for Speranza’s position so that other ARC units can lock onto it. Once a Surveyor finds its target, it fires a yellow beam into the sky. It’s worth noting that Surveyors are often accompanied by Vaporizers, which are extremely tough to deal with – don’t rush in recklessly.
After Surveyor completes its beacon guidance, Assessor will eventually arrive on the map’s surface. It will fly away again after a certain period, so players must complete the puzzle and loot its contents within a limited time.
How to solve the puzzle?
Assessor has three ramps leading up to a rotating platform. Players need to walk up each ramp in turn, breach the corresponding section, and then loot that side of Assessor. Each side emits a laser beam – three beams in total. Whenever one side is breached and looted, its laser shuts off. This means that if you arrive late to an Assessor and other raiders have already started looting, you can quickly tell which side remains unlooted by observing which lasers are still lit.
Assessor Loot Pool
Assessor contains various ARC parts, including ARC Powercells, ARC Alloy, ARC Circuitry, an Assessor Matrix, and Dolabra blueprints.
How to loot Assessor?
Unless you’re specifically gearing up to hunt ARCs, it’s not recommended to bring overly extreme equipment into Close Scrutiny mode. Once a Vaporizer locks onto you, escaping from it becomes incredibly difficult.
You should carry self-defense weapons and consumables that allow you to evade ARC attacks. Additionally, if you have Looting Mk. 3 (Survivor), this is an excellent time to use it. It not only provides extra safe pocket slots but also gives you breathing room to extract if you get downed. In Close Scrutiny, the chance of being downed is quite high, and its health recovery can often save your life.
The best way to loot an Assessor is to remain as stealthy as possible. If no other players are nearby, try sneaking up to Assessor. Then throw a smoke grenade to block line of sight from nearby ARCs while you start breaching. Before you begin looting, throw another smoke grenade to buy yourself enough time to grab the loot. Once you’re done, quickly run to nearby cover and repeat the steps.
When there are ARCs and other players around, Photoelectric Cloak is very useful. It helps you sneak in quietly and, more importantly, cover your retreat after looting. If conditions allow, you can also bring a zipline for a rapid escape.
One thing you should understand here: once most players have obtained cheap ARC Raiders Dolabra blueprint for sale or completed High-Gain Antenna Project, the value of looting an Assessor may drop significantly. If you’re not specifically farming for Vaporizer parts, the risk-reward ratio of looting an Assessor might not be ideal.

If you simply want to obtain Dolabra but are worried about the risks, the safest approach is to buy ARC Raiders blueprints within mins delivery in IGGM – a professional and reliable trading platform for ARC Raiders that delivers the items or blueprints you need as quickly as possible.
Vaporizer
Vaporizer is a brand-new flying ARC unit and arguably the toughest enemy in the game. You can think of it as a hybrid of Rocketeer and Queen or Matriarch.
It is covered in heavy armor, moves nimbly through the air, and is difficult to track. Vaporizer has a strong attack aggression and deals massive damage. It can fire energy bolts and lasers – the latter can scorch the ground and any raiders caught in the area – and also possesses a shield that nullifies incoming damage. Its four thrusters each have two sets of rotors.
How to defeat Vaporizer?
It is recommended to shoot at Vaporizer’s rotors, especially the rear ones. Using heavy ammunition on these parts not only brings it down faster but also increases the chance of flipping it over.
At close range, your best options are high-fire-rate, high-damage weapons like Bettina or Torrente. Aim for its belly to break through the armor and expose the core, then focus your fire on that weak point to take it down quickly.
You can also throw a Hornet Driver near Vaporizer, which can disable its thrusters and cause it to crash and explode. However, this method is extremely difficult – you need to be within 30 meters, aim at its rear thrusters, and Vaporizer must be at the right altitude. It’s not a reliable strategy.
Alternatively, you can throw something near Vaporizer to bait it into activating its shield. Once the shield goes into cooldown, unleash a barrage of Wolfpacks on it for a quick takedown. If you’re in a three-player squad, this is likely the most efficient way to farm Vaporizers – or at least to clear a path so you can loot Assessor.
That concludes IGGM’s complete guide to Close Scrutiny map condition in ARC Raiders. This map condition is always fraught with danger. Do you enjoy taking on Close Scrutiny?
